Hi everyone! A few January highlights for you. First is Australia Day, January 26. We went out to the harbour to watch the ferries race each other, then hit a few pubs for drinks and lunch. Everyone was decked out in green and gold and covered in little Australian flags, including the food. I had lamb...for Sam Kekovich. Annie got one of the infamous "pea floaters" that Bill Bryson talks about, a pork pie with mashed peas on top.
Here's another highlight...coming back from La Traviata at the opera house (which was fantastic!) we saw lots of police and bomb sniffer dogs and important people in black suits running around. Prince William, who was visiting his subjects for the week, was on his way to a barbecue in Macquarie Park! So we hung around, leaned over the rails and caught a glimpse of him getting out of his motorcade and onto his boat. He's the one in the front, walking down the pier.
